Privacy Policy

When you share information with us, for example by creating an Account, we can make our services even better and to help you connect with us.

Information we collect is your name, email address, telephone number and your residence city while creating your account.

If you want to take full advantage of the several features we offer, we might also ask you to create a publicly visible SJC Profile, which may include your photograph.

We do not sell your information to any external agencies and preserve only for the purpose of updating the relevant changes in the courses and for better communication.

By signing up with us, you provide us the right to contact you and send you relevant updates via telephonic call, internet sms, email and other modes of telecommunication.

This Privacy Policy explains our policy regarding the collection, use, disclosure, retention/deletion and transfer of your information by SJC Institute and/or its subsidiary (ies) and/or affiliate(s) (collectively referred to as the Company).

This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected through SJC Institute application  whether accessed mobile device or other technology. The Platform is operated by SJC Institute, who is the data controller.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, while the internet is ever evolving and we might add or make changes to our existing products and they shall also be subject to this policy unless otherwise it is stated by us.

The Company respects the privacy of the users and is committed to reasonably protect it in all respects. The information about the user as collected by the Company is: (a) information supplied by users and (b) information automatically tracked while navigation (collectively referred to as Information).

Personal and Sensitive User Data Collection and use:

All required information such as User Related Information (i.e., Number, E-mail Address, File and images), Approximate Device Location, etc. is service dependent and the Company collect these data for identification of user and to improve the platform i.e., for developing new services.

Following details set out of personal data collects by SJC Institute and use when a user signs up for the platform or updates the account: -

  1. Information the users provide:

Outlines what information the users have to provide to the platform for example: to create an account/login to your account/register for a service the data needed by the company such as

a) Mobile Number    - We need users mobile number for identification, login in the application and for Account Management in Registration

b) Email address – We need users mobile number for identification, login in the application and for Account Management in Registration

c) Name – We need users mobile number for identification, login in the application and for Account Management in Registration

d) Camera Access – We need users camera access for updating their profile picture. At any point user don't want us to access these permission user can always change it from app setting. 

e) Gallery Access – We need users gallery access for updating their profile picture. At any point user don't want us to access these permission they can always change it from app setting. 

f) Image Access – We need users image access for updating their profile picture. At any point user don't want us to access these permission they can always change it from app setting. 

g) File and Docs Access – It is used for App Functionality and Account Management. We need users File and docs access for downloading of file. At any point user don't want us to access these permission they can always change it from app setting. 

 

b.    External Storage Permission:

Our application requires a special permission (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) as we have a use case with our application which directly effects on App core functionality.

 

Our encrypted files  on application content are completely secured and on the other hand our users have limited access of the internet due to this, we have came up with a solution, A user can download bunch of material from Google Drive and that will be saved into the phone memory and our application needs to locate that file to play the user content.

 

Application has a browse button and on clicking it the  application need to read external storage to get those files.

  1. Information collected automatically:

Outlines information collected when the user interacts with the platform, third-party advertisers and/or service providers, which may in turn use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect information about how the Platform is accessed and used such as:

  1. Log files: Whenever the user uses/interacts with the Service, such as in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address (Log files do not contain information about IP address/, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app) when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. (A log file contains information like purchase, access, download or burn access.)
  1. Cookie: Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services.

  1. Device identifier: collect your IP address or other unique identifier ("Device Identifier") for the computer, mobile device, tablet or other device (collectively, "Device") you use to access the Platform, including the hardware model and mobile network information.
  1. Location Information: If used by the platform

Information if received from other sources such as:

  1. 3rd party applications that you might integrate
  2. The company’s partners and service providers.

Any personally identifiable information provided by you will not be considered as sensitive if it is freely available and / or accessible in the public domain. Further, any comments, messages, blogs, scribbles etc. posted/uploaded/conveyed/communicated by users on the public sections of the Site becomes published content and is not considered personally identifiable information subject to this Privacy Policy.

In case you choose to decline to submit personally identifiable information on the Site, we may not be able to provide certain services on the platform to you. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of the same at the time of opening your account. In any case, we will not be liable and or responsible for the denial of certain services to you for lack of you providing the necessary personal information.

When you register with the platform i.e., SJC Institute, we contact you from time to time about updating your personal information to provide the users such features that we believe may benefit / interest you.

Service Providers

The platform may use 3rd party companies and individuals in order to carry out requests, to make various features, services and materials available to the user through the Platform, and to respond to inquiries, the company may have to share user’s information with third parties that perform functions on Company’s behalf, such as companies that host or operate our Platform; payment processors, etc. Thus, we use these third-party platforms and applications for services such as:

  • To facilitate our Service;
  • To provide the Service on our behalf;
  • To perform Service-related services; or
  • To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

While these functions are necessary to build and carry out various functions for the platform. The company is not obligated to share these personal information/data with anyone else/for any other purpose.

Sharing personal information

While on the platform based on advertisements the user might have the opportunity to opt-in to receive information/advertisements/marketing offers from 3rd party advertisers. While social information of the platform shall be shared with the 3rd party and if you agree to have your information share, the information shall be disclosed to the 3rd party and the information disclosed shall be subject to the privacy policy and terms respective to that 3rd party.

Security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. All information gathered on the platform i.e., SJC Institute is securely stored within the “company’s” controlled database. The database is stored on secure the data on an internal database and use firewall and encryption to secure users’ data). However, as effective as our security measures are, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. And, of course, any information you include in a posting to the discussion areas is available to anyone with Internet access.

However, the internet is an ever evolving medium. We may change our privacy policy from time to time to incorporate necessary future changes to safeguard user’s information in a better way.
