How to and what to study for CA Inter Law Paper?

Law is often regarded as one of the highest-scoring subjects in the CA Intermediate examination. Securing an exemption in this paper can significantly boost your overall aggregate marks, potentially making a difference in your CA Intermediate results. In this article, we'll share some tips to help you secure an exemption in the Law section, ensuring you make the most of this opportunity

1. How to study to Score 60+ in CA Inter Law Paper?

Divide the syllabus:

Divide the syllabus into two parts: important and tricky topics that require more attention, and things that are simple and easy to recall.

Read aloud:

When learning theories, read aloud to retain information better. Create your summary notes and charts to help you recall topics section-wise. Highlight the important provisions when making summary notes so that you can devote more time and effort to them when revising.

Practice questions:

Understanding the intent behind the questions can be gained by practicing with previous year's question papers, mock tests, and revision test papers. This will help you understand the exam format and the subjects' strengths and weaknesses.

Presentation skills:

In CA Inter law papers, Presentation skills are important. Begin each question on a new page, leave margins for question numbers and points, answer in points rather than paragraphs, and underline key points.

Time management:

Create a study schedule based on the days left. Don't get stuck on a single topic; switch to another and return later. Manage your time effectively to cover the entire syllabus.

Cover MTP and RTP:

Review at least 5 RTP and Mock Test Papers (MTP). Complete your revision at least 20 days before the exam, and practice using RTP and MTP, adjusting your answers based on amendments.

2. What Should You Study to Score 60 plus in CA Inter Law Paper?

  • Negotiable Instrument Act: Considered tough but important, with a weightage of 8-12 marks.

  • EPF Act: Usually one or two questions, each worth 4 marks.

Companies Law, 2013:

  • Amendments are crucial. Prepare them well.

  • Topics like General Meeting, Share and Share Capital, Companies Documents (Memorandum of Association, Article of Association, Companies Prospectus), Debentures, Transfer and Transmission, and Membership in a Company carry significant weightage.
